American Idol Season 20 runner-up HunterGirl has denied ever being in a romantic relationship with the season’s winner, Noah Thompson. Rumors have swirled that the two could be a couple, but both singers have insisted they’re just friends.
HunterGirl Denies Romance with Noah Thompson
HunterGirl and Thompson formed a close friendship during their time on American Idol Season 20. The two singers, who finished in second and first place, embarked on a tour together after the show. They also recently collaborated on a duet version of Thompson’s song “One Day Tonight.”
Some fans wondered if the pair might be more than friends, especially when it seemed like Thompson had broken up with his girlfriend Angel Dixon. Earlier this year, Thompson even moved to Nashville, where HunterGirl lives.
During a recent interview on the “Taste of Country Nights” radio show, HunterGirl listened to Thompson’s response to the dating rumors, in which he explained that they were “best friends” but were not together romantically.
“We were never together,” HunterGirl said. “I think it was just being in the top two, and then coming off and doing that tour and stuff. You know, there’s always going to be people talking and stuff, but no. Noah’s such a good guy. He’s one of my really good friends.”
