John Legend Launches a New Masterclass in Songwriting
Legend offers budding singers a songwriting class in which he breaks down the composition process of some of his most successful tunes. In doing so, Legend also provides inspiration for musicians trying to establish their own voice in music.
In one course, Legend gives an inside look at the making of his current single “Free,” off his latest album. The chart-topping songs “All of Me,” “Again,” and “Dope” by Legend will also be there as case studies in the masterclass.
“Songs are the core to who we are and are such an important part of humanity,” Legend said. “My class will give you the tools to find your voice, figure out who you are, and establish yourself with longevity so you can make a real impact through music.”
One of the highlights of the class is an analysis of his songwriting process for the Oscar-winning song “Glory,” which was for the 2014 movie Selma. Among his numerous lessons is the significance of being a solid collaborator, and knowing how to blend music genres. You can then sign up for Legend’s songwriting course at the MasterClass website, the price for signing up is $15 per month.
Legend Poses With his Family in a Christmas Photo
Enjoying the holidays has certainly been a staple for the Legend family, and this year is no different. The singer is in a photo by his wife Chrissy Teigen showing the family having a moment together.
The family of four posed together in front of a background of Santa’s town in the first shot. Legend sat on a large red chair throne, dressed in a green sweater with garland pom-pom accents. Standing next to his chair is his wife Teigen who wore a white Christmas cardigan that showed off he baby bump. Their two children Luna and Miles also posed together with them wearing Christmas-themed sweaters.
To support Teigen’s promotion of her Cravings baking mixes, the family visited the Westfield Century City Mall in Los Angeles. The family then posed for some photographs with Santa and Mrs. Claus in the mall.
