Selena Gomez recently posted a photo on Instagram that got fans talking. Some people think she might have been trying to hide a ring on her hand, suggesting she could be engaged to her boyfriend Benny Blanco.

Selena Gomez Sparks Engagement Rumors with New Photo

Gomez recently took to Instagram stories to share a mirror selfie in which she can be seen wearing a metallic dress, with Blanco standing behind her. She wrote that they were having a “night out.” But fans zeroed in on her emoji placement.

The actress and singer chose to put a heart emoji over her hand, seeming to cover up her ring finger. This made some fans wonder if Gomez was trying to cover up an engagement ring. Other social media users expressed annoyance, with one person calling it “attention-seeking.”

However, others pointed out that because the photo was taken in a mirror, it was actually Gomez’s right hand that was covered — not the hand which would have an engagement ring. Some users thought she might be trying to cover something in her hand — possibly a vape pen.

Could the Couple Be Engaged?

Gomez confirmed she was dating Blanco, a record producer, in December of last year. In the months since then, sources have told multiple outlets that the couple sees a future together — including marriage and children.

Then earlier this month, the gossip account DeuxMoi shared an anonymous tip suggesting that the pair had officially gotten engaged. The couple hasn’t confirmed anything, but Gomez told Time in May, “I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that he’s not going anywhere any time soon.”

Meanwhile, Blanco was a guest on Howard Stern’s radio show earlier this year. When Stern said he saw marriage in the couple’s future, Blanco said, “You and me both.”
