The Voice fans have hit their first road block of the season. After five weeks of The Voice season 23 competition, the show is not premiering new episodes this week. Instead, it will premiere for one hour on Monday and skip their Tuesday night timeslot.
What’s in The Knockout Rounds’ Place?
Even though many expected it, The Knockout Rounds will not kick off on Monday, April 10. In place of the next round, The Voice will air a special episode, entitled “Best of the Blinds, Battles and Blake.”
The official TV Guide description of the episode suggests that fans will see the “best moments from the Blind Auditions through the Battle Rounds from the perspective of the coaches.” Due to this description, fans should expect this episode to be similar to AGT All-Stars‘s “Finals Preview: From the Judges’ Desk” episode. If you missed the AGT All-Stars episode, it basically featured judges talking about their favorite performers ahead of the finale.
In addition, “Best of the Blinds, Battles and Blake” will feature “a special performance by the coaches of Frankie Valli’s ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off You‘ and Blake’s best moments over the years.” Longtime fans of the series should expect tons of Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani memories.
At this time, there has not been a preview released for the upcoming episode. Fans interested in watching the hour-long special live can find it on NBC at 8 p.m. ET.
When Do The Knockout Rounds Start?
The Voice will return to NBC the following Monday (April 17) to kick off the Knockout Rounds. This season’s Mega Mentor, Reba McEntire will join the crew during the episode. She will assist coaches in teaching each artist.
For those who may not know, the Knockout Rounds feature coaches pairing two artists to perform individually against one another. Coaches then have to pick a winning artist to move on to the Playoffs. Each coach is only given one steal in this round. Typically, artists are able to pick their own song in this round.
Which Singers Are Left?
Although this seasons’ Battle Rounds were a bit different, it seems like the Knockout Rounds remain the same. There are 24 artists performing in the next round and four that will skip this round and reappear in the upcoming Playoffs.
Team Blake: Tasha Jessen, Walker Wilson, Kylee Dayne, Grace West, and Neil Salsich. In addition, Shelton Playoff Passed Mary Kate Connor and saved NOIVAS.
Team Kelly: Cait Martin, Marcos Covos, ALI, Holly Brand, and Rachel Christine. In addition, Clarkson Playoff Passed D.Smooth and saved Kala Banham.
Team Chance: Jamar Langley, Sorelle, Magnus, NariYella, and Ray Uriel. Chance The Rapper Playoff Passed Manasseh Samone and saved Tiana Goss.
Team Niall: Gina Miles, Ross Clayton, Kate Cosentino, Michael B, and Jerome Godwin III. Niall Horan Playoff Passed Ryley Tate Wilson and saved EJ Michels.
The Voice Knockout Rounds kick off on NBC on Monday, April 17 at 8 p.m. ET.
